Goodbye Sleep in Days... I Will Miss You

When I woke up at 8:45 this morning (curled under my comforter the way. It was lovely) there was no one else in the house. My mom was on another flight (to somewhere that started with Nan...), my sister was at her English class that didn't finish until 10, and my dad had driven her there. I haven't woken up to a empty house before (in China) and it was kinda nice. I had a nice leisurely breakfast (2 pieces of bread this morning. I was feeling hungry) and wrote in my blog/surfed the Internet. That kept me occupied for a while. I also had another conversation with my parents, without any fear of being over heard. I even left the door open. It was quite exciting.

By the time my sister and my dad returned home, I had already moved onto my homework, which was to be the motif of the afternoon. I did put on a clean shirt this morning, but otherwise, not so much. I was just studying all of today. I gave my sister a lot songs (she just wanted the ones that I sang for karaoke yesterday) and that took a while.

Lunch was scrumptious, mostly because my dad brought home my favorite food: bing. I have no idea what the bloody hell it is called in America, but it is really really good. (It's that pita thing that I have talked about before.) We also had some pork stuff, and spicy chicken, which was good. I swear, I (mostly) eat just as well here as I do in the states. Thank you fates, for giving me a good family, with a good cook.

After lunch was still pretty boring. I just did more homework. It was a never ending cycle. Although I did break the monotony at a couple of times, with some internet surfing and chatting, but mostly it was boring.

Dinner was not as nice as it normally is. My dad made what he called garlic chicken, but it definitely wasn't. I would say what it was, but neither I nor anyone in the room can remember what it was called, so sorry. We had rice, as well.

I just talked to my friend via iChat, and for a while that was the most exciting thing that I did. But then, the phone rang. After a quick conversation, my sister came into my room, and broke the news. My mom had been in a car crash. Apparently someone T boned her, and then took off. She was totally fine, not a scratch, but the car was totaled. For someone so small, my sister was furious. She was basically spitting fire. I wasn't too worried about the car crash though, because my dad wasn't, and I figured that if anything bad happened to my mom, he would have been freaking out.

Due to my disinclination to sound like a broken record, I am just going to stop now. The day was rather boring, and so much more like a school day than a vacation. Don't you hate it when that happens?
